Contractions
This week in second grade, we will be practicing with contractions. Below are some videos that might help your child become more familiar with contractions. The first video features a first grade class performing a rap about contractions and the second video gives a lesson then provides the typed lyrics to the Kidz Bop version of the Bruno Mars song “Just the Way You Are” so that the number of contractions used can be counted by students.

Synonym Song
Today we had some synonym practice and we used alliteration to remind us that a synonym is a word that is the same or similar to another word. We watched the fun video below to help us practice with synonyms!
